Victoria Park Transfer Station at a glance

The City of Toronto runs seven transfer stations, and each has a drop-off depot where residents can bring unwanted items. Victoria Park is the one at 3350 Victoria Park Avenue, which the City lists under North York. The table below is what the City's location page says today.

The City can change hours and accepted items, so check its depot page or call 311 before you load the vehicle.

What Victoria Park takes from residents

The City's location page lists five kinds of material for residents at Victoria Park, plus Blue Bin items that households should not bring. Each has its own fee and its own area on the site.

  • Garbage: household waste, charged by weight at the scales.
  • Yard waste: leaves, branches, brush and similar plant material. Pieces over 7.5 centimetres (3 inches) across or 1.2 metres (4 feet) long are refused. Grass clippings and soil are not accepted.
  • Renovation waste with no drywall: baseboards, bathtubs, cabinets, countertops, doors, fencing, insulation, lumber up to 4 feet long, plaster, pressure treated wood, roof shingles, siding and tile.
  • Household hazardous waste: paint, batteries, propane and other gas tanks, cleaners, pesticides and similar items. Residents drop these off free.
  • Electronic waste: free to drop off.

Blue Bin recycling

Victoria Park's listing includes Blue Bin items, but the City's accepted items page says that since January 1, 2026 the depots take recycling only from commercial properties, charities, institutions, religious groups and City departments. Households use their curbside Blue Bin. Do not bring household recycling here.

Hazardous waste and electronics

Vehicles that carry only hazardous waste or electronics skip the weigh scales and follow the signs to the hazardous waste area, which has its own hours. The City limits hazardous waste to 50 litres or 50 kilograms in total per day, with up to 5 gas tanks. For paint, propane and chemicals we point you to our household hazardous waste guide.

What Victoria Park does not take, and where to go

Three questions come up most for this depot: drywall, metal and mattresses. Victoria Park does not list any of them.

The City's pages do not fully agree. Its regulations page lists construction and renovation waste, drywall and scrap metal as prohibited at the transfer station, while its accepted items page and location page say Victoria Park takes renovation waste with no drywall. This page follows the more specific accepted items and location pages. If you are unsure about an item, call 311 before you drive.

  • Drywall: the City says drywall is accepted only at Bermondsey, Ingram and Commissioners, up to 1 tonne. Remove nails, screws, metal corner beads, ceramics and wood first.
  • Mattresses: accepted only at Commissioners and Dufferin, for a fee of $142.40 per tonne as of July 1, 2026. Residents can also set one out at the curb as an oversized item. The City warns of delays at Commissioners from October 26 to December 18 because of tipping floor repairs.
  • Metal and appliances: the City's metal category (appliances, lawnmowers, tools, pipes, bicycles) is listed at Bermondsey, Commissioners, Dufferin and Ingram, not at Victoria Park.
  • Concrete, brick, cinder blocks, paving stones, asphalt, soil, sand, gravel and rocks: not accepted at any City depot. The City says to contact a private company.
  • Asbestos, ammunition, boats, dead animals and tires: not accepted. The City says tires are refused at depots until further notice.

Scarborough, and depots for drywall and metal

The City's Scarborough depot at 1 Transfer Place lists garbage, yard waste, renovation waste with no drywall, hazardous waste and electronics, the same as Victoria Park apart from Blue Bin items. Hours there for garbage and renovation waste are Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For drywall or metal, Bermondsey and Ingram are the two North York depots that take both. The full list of Toronto transfer stations compares all seven.

Fees at Victoria Park

Every load needs a deposit of at least $40 before you unload. The scales then weigh you in and out, the fee is worked out on the net weight, and you get a refund or pay the difference. The City rounds weights to the nearest 5 kilograms and takes cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Garbage and renovation waste cost $189.86 per tonne, with a minimum of $19 that covers the first 100 kg. The City's own example: 205 kg of garbage costs $38.92, which is $19 plus $1 for every 5.27 kg over the first 100 kg. Yard waste is $142.40 per tonne, and a load under 20 kg is free. Household hazardous waste and electronics are free.

Do not mix garbage and recycling in one load, because the City refuses mixed loads. The City's process page walks through the whole visit step by step.

Rules for your vehicle and load

A safe motorized vehicle is required. Walk-ins, bicycles and manual transportation devices are not permitted, and unsafe vehicles or unsecured loads are refused entry. The City's regulations say loads must arrive fully covered by a tarp or an acceptable alternative.

You unload by yourself in the area staff direct you to, and only the driver may leave the vehicle there. The City recommends protective equipment, calls its depots industrial sites, and its regulations require safety helmets and boots in designated areas. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m., City vehicles and contractors working for the City get priority, so expect a wait at those hours.

Hours change on holidays. The City's 2026 holiday page says all sites are closed on Friday, December 25 and Friday, January 1, and open on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11. It says nothing about Boxing Day, so check its holiday page or call 311 first.

When we haul it instead

Victoria Park is open on weekdays only and takes a narrow list. If the load includes drywall, a mattress, an appliance or concrete, you would need two stops or a private company. We come to the door, load it and haul it away. We are a private junk removal company, and we try to recycle what we can.

Prices are posted by the load, before 13% HST. The minimum pickup is $119, a 1/4 load is $259, a 1/2 load is $389 and a full load of about 16 cubic yards is $599, which includes 1,000 kg. Weight over the allowance is $200 per tonne. Send photos for a quote. We confirm the volume on site, and we are insured.

If everything is already outside at ground level and ready to load, the load price drops 10%. Same-day service is available for an extra charge when the schedule allows. We take junk across Toronto and the GTA, and demolition and tear-out only inside the City of Toronto. We do not take hazardous waste: paint, propane, chemicals or asbestos. The City takes paint, propane and household chemicals at depots with a hazardous waste area, or through its free Toxic Taxi pickup for residents. It does not take asbestos at its depots.

The City lists this depot under North York. If you would rather not make the trip, see junk removal in North York. Old couches, tables and dressers are on our furniture removal page.
